This policy covers bessl.co, the marketing website of BESSL Framework — an AI-native creative production company based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The website is a static, informational site: there is no sign-up, no login, and no contact form. Beyond standard hosting logs, it collects nothing unless you consent to analytics cookies in our banner. Our own products and games (such as Hoardle) have their own privacy policies — see Section 8.

1. What this website collects

  • No forms, no account. The site has no registration, login, or contact form. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message — nothing more.
  • Hosting access logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs — your IP address, browser/user-agent, the pages requested, and timestamps — to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse. We do not combine these into a profile of you.
  • Local browser preferences. The site stores a display-theme preference, a first-visit flag, and your cookie-consent choice in your browser's storage. These identify your preferences, not you, and are cleared when you clear the site's data.
  • Analytics — only if you consent. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used. It loads only after you accept in our cookie banner. If you accept, GA4 sets cookies and collects your page views and interactions, approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google shortens), and device/browser information. If you decline or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We run no advertising and do no cross-site ad tracking.

2. Who processes data (third parties)

  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery. Vercel serves the site and keeps the standard access logs described above. Vercel Privacy Policy.
  • Google — Google Analytics 4 processes analytics data (only with your consent); it may be processed on Google servers, including in the United States. And if you email us at bessl.framework@gmail.com, Google (Gmail) processes that message as our email provider. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Secure Privacy — our consent-management provider. It shows the cookie banner and records your consent choice so we can honour it. Secure Privacy.
  • External links. Links from this site (for example, GitHub) lead to third-party services governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

3. Why we process it

  • To deliver, operate, and secure the website (hosting logs).
  • To remember your display preference and consent choice on your device (local storage).
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it — only with your consent (Google Analytics).
  • To read and respond to you if you email us (email).

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. Legal bases (EEA / UK — GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies and the associated processing (given, and withdrawable, through our cookie banner), and on our legitimate interest in operating and securing an informational website and in responding to messages you send us. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Retention

  • Hosting access logs are retained by our provider under its own retention schedule, then rotated or deleted.
  • Emails you send are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable business record.
  • Analytics data (if you consent) is retained by Google under our Google Analytics retention setting, then deleted or aggregated.
  • Local browser preferences remain on your device until you clear the site's data.
  • We keep no separate database of visitors on our own systems.

6. Your rights

  • GDPR (EEA / UK): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability.
  • CCPA / CPRA (California): to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell or share personal information.
  • Korea (Personal Information Protection Act): access, correction, deletion, and suspension of processing.

Analytics consent: you can change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time through the cookie banner, or by clearing the site's data. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on.

7. Children

This website is a general-audience business site and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Our products and games

Software we publish collects data as needed to function, and each product has its own policy. For our iOS game Hoardle: The Abyss, see the Hoardle Privacy Policy. Client engagements (consulting and production work) are governed by the separate written agreement for that engagement.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
